Job Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled 5G ORAN Machine Learning and Telecommunication Engineer to drive the development and the implementation of ML based xApps and rApps, capable of adapting in real time to fast changing 5G network environments. In this role, you will be responsible for innovative machine learning models that significantly improve the performance, energy efficiency, and intelligent orchestration of next-generation radio access networks (RAN).
Your contributions will be critical to optimizing RAN KPIs and advancing the capabilities of 5G networks through AI-powered automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy ML-based xApps and rApps for the RAN Intelligent Controller (RIC), to optimize RAN key performance indicators such as energy efficiency, spectral efficiency, and handover success rates.
- Collaborate closely with telecom and systems engineering teams to seamlessly integrate AI solutions across disaggregated ORAN components (O-RU, O-DU, O-CU).
- Analyze large-scale RAN data from gNodeBs and user equipment to uncover actionable insights and patterns that drive model improvements.
- Benchmark ML solutions against existing approaches to demonstrate performance gains and operational benefits.
Qualifications
- Excellent problem-solving skills, creativity, and a collaborative mindset.
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience applying machine learning techniques to wireless network challenges.
- Strong knowledge of 5G RAN and ORAN architecture, including O-RU, O-DU, O-CU, and RIC components.
- Familiarity with ONF/ORAN Alliance frameworks, O-RAN SC, and Open RIC platform.
- Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow or PyTorch, and familiarity with ORAN-compliant APIs such as E2 and A1 interfaces.
- Experience working with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native deployment strategies.
- Effective communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Contributions to ORAN working groups or open-source RAN projects are a strong plus.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary with a generous stock option plan.
- The chance to influence and shape the future of intelligent 5G networks.
- A fast-paced, innovative research environment at the intersection of telecom and AI.
- Opportunities for professional growth and industry impact.
