Job Summary:

Ainsworth is currently looking for Building Maintenance/Carpenter Technicians to join our growing Calgary team. The role will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and installing building components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance on buildings for commercial customers.
  • Installation of building equipment and components.
  • Perform carpentry work, cabinetry repairs, door hardware repair and replacements.
  • Build and repair walls, housekeeping pads, partitions, doorways, window frames, stairs, etc.
  • Apply floor coverings, ceramic tile, masonry work as required.
  • Painting, staining, remodeling of cabinets. T-bar ceiling install/repair.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by and in accordance with all applicable Health, Safety, and Environmental company policies and government legislation/regulations.
  • Contribute to the ongoing training and mentoring of indentured apprentices
  • Adhere to the Company’s Quality System operating procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications:

  • Apprentice Carpenter
  • Commercial experience, overall understanding of building structural, HVAC and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of the practices, methods, tools, materials, and equipment of the building maintenance and carpentry industry.
  • A current and valid Alberta driver’s license.
  • Able to pass security screening and clearance for customer sites/locations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills an asset
