<p><h3>AWS Python Developer</h3>
<p>Company: <b>CGI</b></p>
<p>Location: Hybrid (2-3 days a week in any CGI Atlantic Location: Halifax, NS; Moncton, NB; Fredericton, NB; Stratford, PE; or St. John’s, NL)</p>
<p>Position Description: The AWS Python Developer will design, build, and deploy scalable backend applications and RESTful APIs using Python on AWS. The role involves working extensively with AWS services including Lambda, S3, EC2, ECS, Glue, IAM, CloudWatch, and Terraform to develop cloud‑native solutions and automated workflows.</p>
<h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Design, develop, and deploy scalable applications using Python on AWS, ensuring high performance, resiliency, and adherence to best practices in cloud architecture.</li>
<li>Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend microservices, focusing on modular, secure, and maintainable code.</li>
<li>Develop and optimize AWS Lambda functions to support event‑driven architectures, automation, and microservice workflows.</li>
<li>Leverage AWS services, including S3, EC2, ECS, Glue, IAM, CloudWatch, and Terraform to build robust cloud‑native solutions and automate infrastructure provisioning.</li>
<li>Implement data transformation workflows in Python, working with various data formats such as XML, JSON, CSV, and others.</li>
<li>Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize applications using CloudWatch and other AWS monitoring tools to ensure system stability and performance.</li>
<li>Collaborate with business stakeholders through JAD sessions, architecture reviews, and requirement‑gathering meetings to align technical solutions with business goals.</li>
<li>Ensure security best practices across AWS services, including IAM role management, data protection, and secure API design.</li>
<li>Participate in code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts to maintain high coding standards and team knowledge sharing.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Strong experience with AWS services such as S3, EC2, ECS, Glue, Terraform, IAM, and CloudWatch (5+ years).</li>
<li>Strong experience with AWS Lambda (5+ years).</li>
<li>Experience with developing RESTful APIs and backend microservices.</li>
<li>Strong experience with designing, developing, and deploying scalable applications using Python on AWS (5+ years).</li>
<li>Experience with data transformation through Python and working with different data formats (XML, JSON, etc.).</li>
<li>Good communication skills with experience communicating with business during JAD sessions for requirement gathering and architecture discussions.</li>
