Job Description

Job Description

Site Superintendent, Multi-Family Wood Frame (4-6 Storeys), Calgary, AB

Location: Calgary, Alberta
Industry: Multi-Family Residential Construction
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Opportunity

Our client is a leading multi-family developer with a secured seven-year project pipeline supported by an impressive landbank and multiple planned communities across Calgary. Due to ongoing growth, they are seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to oversee the construction of 4-6 storey wood-frame residential buildings, including projects with integrated parkade structures.

This role is ideal for a hands-on construction leader who understands the nuances of wood-frame sequencing, trade coordination, and quality control—and who wants long-term stability with a reputable builder.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on-site construction activities for mid-rise wood-frame multi-family projects.

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.

  • Manage and coordinate trades, site staff, equipment, and materials.

  • Drive the construction schedule, anticipate issues, and ensure milestones are met.

  • Oversee excavation, foundation, parkade, framing, building envelope, and interior finishing phases.

  • Conduct regular site meetings, safety inspections, and progress reviews.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, including site reports, RFIs, daily logs, and deficiency lists.

  • Ensure site compliance with building codes, company standards, and OH&S regulations.

  • Work closely with the Project Manager to provide updates, identify risks, and resolve site challenges.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 7+ years of construction experience, including several years as a Superintendent or Senior Foreman.

  • Proven experience delivering 4-6 storey wood-frame multi-family buildings, ideally with parkade components.

  • Strong ability to read drawings, manage site sequencing, and coordinate trades.

  • Excellent leadership presence, firm but fair, with a focus on respect, teamwork, and accountability.

  • Strong safety mindset; COR or safety training certifications are an asset.

  • Experience with Procore (or similar construction management software) preferred.

What's In It for You

  • Join a stable, well-capitalized developer with a guaranteed multi-year project pipeline.

  • Lead meaningful Calgary builds that shape communities.

  • Competitive compensation package including salary, benefits, and bonus structure.

  • Opportunity to grow into larger, more complex builds as the pipeline continues.
