We are seeking a Business Development Lead to strengthen our relationships with clients, identify new business opportunities, and support the company’s growth objectives. Reporting to the CEO, this role plays a key part in aligning what our clients value most and how we deliver it.


This position is based in London, Ontario, with regular travel to client offices and project sites across Southwestern Ontario. You’ll collaborate with our Operations, Estimating, and Executive teams to ensure client needs are well understood and met. Some flexibility for occasional evening or weekend commitments may be required for client meetings or industry events.


How you will make an IMPACT



  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities that align with J-AAR's capabilities and growth goals.

  • Manage existing clients to ensure ongoing satisfaction and retain business.

  • Identify business opportunities, generate warm leads, and seek out partnerships.

  • Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships.

  • Predict future needs and devise strategies and action plans to meet those needs.

  • Set sales targets and provide sales support.

  • Consult with senior management on business trends to develop new services, products, and distribution channels.

  • Support early project planning discussions to ensure clear alignment between client expectations and delivery strategies.

  • Gather and communicate market feedback to help improve service offerings and client experience.

  • Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals and meet targets.

  • Cold call within a defined market or geographic area to ensure continual opportunities for business growth.

  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations that reflect J-AAR’s strengths and professionalism.


What you BRING



  • 7-12 years of experience in construction or related sectors.

  • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

  • Proven relationship-building skills with clients, owners, and project partners.

  • Strong understanding of project delivery, estimating, or operations.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a professional presence.

  • Strategic mindset and solid commercial awareness.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and accountable.
