The Position

This is a contract hybrid, full-time position that requires the successful candidate to be in the downtown Ottawa office two days a week. It requires a candidate with a solid knowledge of committee management and data management principles. The candidate must also work collaboratively with the member company representatives to deliver annual reports on system reliability and performance.



Key Responsibilities:


Committee Management


  • Manage three internal technical committees.
  • Schedule face-to-face meetings/workshops, develop agendas in cooperation with the manager/committee chairs, and invite internal and external speakers, as appropriate.
  • Lead and/or facilitate discussions and presentations during meetings.
  • Take comprehensive meeting notes and develop meeting minutes/action items.
  • Onboard new members with the assistance of the manager.
  • Respond to member information requests.
  • Keep document management and member communication platforms up to date.
  • Maintain Electricity Canada’s user management system and distribution lists for the related committees.
  • Support the development of briefing notes and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Support document editing and proofreading.
  • Other tasks as required.

Program Management


  • Support the implementation of the Reliability Program Renewal Plan (marketing, member recruitment).
  • Develop and provide regular issue updates for monthly, quarterly, and annual newsletters.

Data Related Activities


  • Assist in data collection, verification, validation, quality control, analysis and reporting.
  • Identify issues and opportunities for improvement in data-related reporting.
  • Identify opportunities in delivering value-added initiatives to members.
  • Investigate and resolve data anomalies and identify trends.
  • Support the manager/data analyst with the publication of the annual performance reports.
  • Support the manager/data analyst with data collection related to industry data.


Qualifications

  • Completion of a university degree/college diploma.
  • Knowledge and experience related to project management.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, able to work independently, and with a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – French is an asset.
  • Knowledge of data management principles: data mapping/collection/analysis.
  • Experience working with MS Office, databases and dashboards.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
  • Strong problem-solving, quantitative, and analytical abilities.
  • Some knowledge of SQL and the ability to perform simple queries.
  • Willingness to travel (3-4 times per year within Canada).
