Job Description

<p><b>Job Profile:</b></p><p>The Custodian is responsible for cleaning areas of the various locations and office buildings.</p><p><b>Primary Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Follow procedures for the use of all chemical cleaners.</li><li>Maintain janitor closets in a clean, organized and safe manner</li><li>Clean building floors and stairways by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming</li><li>Empty trash cans and recycling containers</li><li>Dust furniture, window blinds and office equipment</li><li>Clean and disinfect washrooms and fixtures</li><li>Wash windows and blinds using appropriate cleaners and squeegees</li><li>Notify management concerning the need for major repairs to buildings</li><li>Remove snow and ice from walkways, doorways using snow shovels and spread snow melting chemicals</li><li>Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties</li></ul><p><b>General Expectations:</b></p><ul><li>Follow prescribed safety standards, rules and regulations</li><li>Instill a safety culture; lead by example</li><li>Identify and record non-conformities and participate in their resolution</li><li>Participate in continuous improvement initiatives</li><li>Recommend improvements and develop improvement plans in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions</li><li>Maintain a well-organized and clean facility as per PMP vision</li><li>Maintain all equipment and tools per recommended procedures</li><li>Ability to work as a respectable, professional and efficient team member</li><li>Maintain a healthy work environment and develop employees on a professional level</li></ul><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>Completion of Grade 12 or GED</li><li>One year janitorial experience</li><li>Basic knowledge of cleaning products with a willingness to learn</li></ul><p><b>Shifts:</b></p><p>Part Time - 20 hours per week<br><br>Full Time - 40 hours per week</p>
