It's a sparkling, 200-bed facility in south Winnipeg where people who can no longer live independently come to live their remaining years in dignity and with professional care, in a robust and friendly social environment steeped in Yiddishkeit.</p><p>The Saul and Claribel Simkin Centre is a not-for-profit, government-funded facility that honours Jewish values and traditions while welcoming seniors of all backgrounds.</p><p>We Offer:</p><ul><li>Affordable staff meals in our onsite cafe</li><li>Regular Staff Appreciation events</li><li>Employee Assistance Program</li><li>HEPP Pension</li></ul><p>JOB SUMMARY<br>:</p><ul><li>RE-THERM MEALS FOR RESIDENTS.</li><li>ASSEMBLES MEALS ACCORDING TO INDIVIDUAL DIET ORDER.</li><li>DELIVERS AND COLLECTS DISHES AND CUTLERY.</li><li>PREPARES DINING ROOM FOR MEAL SERVICE AS REQUIRED.</li><li>SERVES RESIDENTS' MEALS IN THE DINING ROOMS.</li><li>WASHES AND SANTIZES DISHES AND OTHER EQUIPMENT.</li><li>OPERATES FOOD SERVICE EQUIPMENT.</li><li>PERFORMS CLEANING DUTIES TO MAINTAIN DEPARTMENT STANDARDS.</li><li>OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.</li></ul><p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p><ul><li>GRADE XII EDUCATION.</li><li>MUST SUCCESFULLY PASS A PRE-HIRE SCREENING TEST.</li><li>A VALID FOOD HANDLERS CERTIFICATE.</li><li>A MINIMUM OF ONE YEAR WORK EXPERIENCE AS A DIETARY AIDE.</li><li>CURRENT CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK, VULNERABLE PERSONS AND ADULT ABUSE REGISTRY CHECK MUST BE PROVIDED.</li></ul><p>SKILLS:</p><ul><li>MENTAL AND PHYSICAL ABILITY TO MEET THE DEMANDS OF THE JOB.</li><li>ABILITY TO WORK COOPERATIVELY IN A STRESSFUL ENVIRONMENT WITH EFFECTIVE TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS.</li><li>ABILITY TO WORK AND FOLLOW SAFE WORK PROCEDURES.</li><li>DEMONSTRATED ABILITY TO WORK AS AN EFFECTIVE TEAM MEMBER WITH EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION SKILLS.</li></ul><p>Other</p><ul><li>Must have good performance and attendance record.</li></ul><p>This position is subject to a Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, an Adult Abuse Registry Check and a Child Abuse Registry Check.
