<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>DIRECTOR, QUALITY & RISK</p><p>Location: Flin Flon, The Pas, or Thompson, MB. Position can be based at any of the three sites.</p><p>JOB POSTING NUMBER TM-2025-411</p><p>POSITION CODE 300-3RSK-DIR_01</p><p>DEPARTMENT QUALITY & RISK</p><p>JOB STATUS / FTE Permanent / 1.0 FTE</p><p>ANTICIPATED SHIFT Days (Mon-Fri)</p><p>WAGE RANGE To be discussed</p><h3>Position Summary</h3><p>Responsible for the oversight of Quality & Risk management programs in the region that includes :</p><ul><li>Quality Improvement</li><li>Risk Management</li><li>Patient Safety</li><li>Privacy & Access</li></ul><p>This position works closely with all departments within the Northern Health Region to plan and implement Quality & Risk programs. The Director promotes the mission, values and goals of the NHR and participates actively in the NHR planning processes. The Risk Management portion of this portfolio reports to the VP Corporate Services & Chief Financial Officer. This position requires service and travel to outlying communities within the region and the province.</p><p>The incumbent must fulfill the requirements of the Criminal Records / Vulnerable Person, Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check, and adherence to all Northern Health Region policies and procedures.</p><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Post–secondary degree in a health-related discipline (combination of education and experience related to the position may be considered)</li><li>Valid Manitoba Class V driver’s license access to a vehicle and willingness to travel throughout region and province year round</li><li>Training in Quality Management and LEAN methodology preferred</li><li>Working knowledge of Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet</li><li>Two (2) years’ supervisory / management experience preferred</li><li>Two (2) years’ comprehensive experience related to the position</li><li>Knowledge and experience in working with principles of Risk Management and Patient Safety</li><li>Willingness to obtain Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, American Society for Health Risk Management Credentials, Canadian Patient Safety Officer, or similar designation(s) within two (2) years of employment</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Ability to speak an Indigenous language is an asset, preferably Cree, Dene or Michif</li><li>Respects and promotes a culturally diverse population</li><li>Successful candidate subject to provide security checks in accordance with Security Checks for Employment Policy (HR-02-80).
