We work with proactive clients who understand the importance of having exceptional staff.<br /></p><p>Partner Staffing on behalf of our client, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented <b>Construction Estimator</b> to support the planning and delivery of major <b>infrastructure and building projects</b> throughout Edmonton and the surrounding region. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to develop accurate, competitive, and well-supported cost estimates for projects ranging from municipal infrastructure and civil works to commercial and institutional buildings.<br /></p><p><br /></p><br />Requirements<p><b>Key Responsibilities</b><br /></p><ul><li>Prepare full-cycle cost estimates for infrastructure, civil, and building projects, including quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and pricing.<br /></li><li>Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to identify scope requirements, risk factors, cost drivers, and opportunities for value engineering.<br /></li><li>Develop detailed cost breakdowns, unit rates, and <span >labour/equipment/productivity</span> allowances based on industry standards and project-specific conditions.<br /></li><li>Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain pricing, clarify scopes, and confirm constructability considerations.<br /></li><li>Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and design reviews to ensure accurate cost assessment.<br /></li><li>Prepare tender submissions, schedules of quantities, cash flow projections, and supporting documentation.<br /></li><li>Maintain databases of historical costs, <span >subcontractor/supplier</span> lists, and market pricing for continuous improvement.<br /></li><li>Support project handover by communicating estimate assumptions, constraints, and risk items to the project execution team.<br /></li><li>Assist with change order pricing, budget updates, and cost forecasting as required.<br /></li><li>Contribute to estimating process improvements and mentor junior team members when appropriate.<br /></li></ul><p><b>Qualifications</b><br /></p><ul><li><b>7+ years of experience</b> in construction estimating within infrastructure, civil, or building sectors.<br /></li><li>Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, unit rates, labour productivity, and market conditions.<br /></li><li>Proven experience with municipal infrastructure, civil works, structural and architectural building elements, or related scopes.<br /></li><li>Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.<br /></li><li>Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.<br /></li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.<br /></li><li>Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field considered an asset.<br /></li><li>CET, PMP, PQS, Gold Seal, or relevant professional designation is an advantage.<br /></li></ul><p><br /></p><br />Benefits<p>Partner Staffing is Bringing Talent to Business.
