Job Description:

Facilities Maintenance Worker:
  • Regularly water and maintain both indoor and outdoor plants.
  • Perform routine inspections to ensure optimal building temperature and adjust systems as needed.
  • Organize and maintain cleanliness in offices, classrooms, and common areas to ensure a tidy, well-ordered environment.
  • Oversee/Perform maintenance activities as assigned for both college and personal residential properties.
  • Assemble and move furniture, install wall mounts, frames, and fixtures as required. Touch up holes and paint walls when necessary.
  • Keep an up-to-date inventory of office supplies, furniture, tools, and equipment.
  • Purchase supplies and equipment as needed, with supervisor approval.
  • Pick up and deliver supplies or orders as required.
  • Safely manage and operate the electrical panel.
  • Ensure the proper functioning and security of internet, phone, and wiring connections.
  • Maintain exterior landscaping, including seasonal tasks like snow removal and waste disposal. (Coordinate with third-party service providers)
  • Oversee the maintenance and servicing of vehicles.
  • Supervise parking lot organization, ensuring vehicles are parked according to signage.
  • Monitor and secure the building and its premises.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance or security concerns.
  • Assist with cleaning duties as required, including aquarium cleaning.
  • Be available for on-call support during weekends if needed.
  • Conduct deep carpet cleaning twice a year with assistance from other cleaning staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Maintenance Responsibilities:
  • Repair and maintain machinery, equipment, plumbing, electrical systems, and structural elements (e.g., walls and floors).
  • Conduct regular inspections of building systems, grounds, and equipment to identify any issues or potential risks.
  • Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and prolong the lifespan of equipment and facilities.
  • Install new equipment, appliances, and fixtures as needed.
  • Perform a variety of tasks, including painting, cleaning, pressure washing, and landscaping.
  • Maintain a log of completed work, write shift reports, and document any issues.


Reporting & Safety Compliance:
  • Report maintenance needs and issues to the maintenance manager or client in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all company safety regulations and comply with local building codes.


Tools and Equipment:
  • Safely operate and maintain a variety of tools, including hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment for electrical, plumbing, or mechanical systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of various maintenance methods and systems, including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual tasks as required.


Must have Class 5 driver license required and access to personal vehicle.

Job Type, Shift & Schedule:
  • Job Type: In person, Full-time, Permanent.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shift.
