The Field Superintendent is responsible for ensuring all contractors within their assigned area work safely and adhere to all site safety program requirements. This role involves overseeing detailed work planning, supervision of field activities, and ensuring high-quality execution of maintenance and construction tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure contractors work safely and in compliance with all safety program requirements.
  • Review and/or develop detailed work plans in alignment with established workface planning processes.
  • Supervise direct field labour on Non-Routine Maintenance activities such as facility upgrades, renovations, scaffolding coordination, and mechanical/piping work, ensuring safe and high-quality execution.
  • Oversee contractor activities on Non-Routine Maintenance and construction-related scopes, confirming work is completed safely and in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Conduct inspections of completed work to verify compliance with standards; identify deficiencies and manage remediation.
  • Monitor schedules and work productivity, collaborating with contractors and operations personnel to resolve issues and remove barriers.
  • Validate and approve contractor-submitted daily labour, equipment, and material reports.
  • Coordinate field activities between contractors and operations teams as required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience with multi-discipline mechanical work, structural steel modifications, and facility upgrades.
  • Experience working in a brownfield construction environment is required.
  • Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) background will also be considered.
