Healthy Muslim Families Inc. (HMF) is a non‑profit organization based in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Our mission is to strengthen and empower families through education, programs, services, and support, in line with Islamic values. We operate from a belief that strong families make a strong community.
We serve ethno‑cultural communities that include new immigrant communities and thus strive to provide culturally appropriate services and services in the first languages of the community.
Main Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver Financial Literacy workshops
- Assist during tax filing season
- Gather feedback from the participants, pre and post workshop surveys
- Recruit participants for workshops
- Provide one on one assistance to community
- Work effectively with the team members
- Accurately maintain participant files in an effective and confidential manner
- Submit reports and documents in a timely manner.
- Translate PowerPoint presentations in a second language of the community
- Participate in meetings and trainings
- Complete other duties as assigned
Assets:
- Understanding of Financial products and navigating financial institutions in Canada
- Understanding of settlement challenges and barriers that newcomer families face
- Understanding of the impact of poverty on families
- Additional languages like Arabic
