Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Language: English Start Date of Employment (Approx.): As soon as possible Minimum Education: None Positions Available: 5 NOC Group: Harvesting Labourers (85101) NOC Job Title: General Farm Worker- Harvesting Job Location(s) Street Langley, British Columbia V1M 3P9 Canada Job Duties: Harvest fruits and vegetables by hand. Manual labour such as digging, planting, pruning. Dig and plant seeds, or transplant seedlings by hand and packaging of agricultural produce such as fruits and vegetables. Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, weighing, storage of agricultural products, and post-harvest treatment of crops. Load products into trucks and/or drive trucks to market/storage Prepare planting beds for sowing seeds and harvesting Setup/inspect/repair irrigation system and equipment Maintenance and repair of farm buildings, machinery and equipment Keep irrigation ditches clear and well maintained Monitor the work of other agricultural employees during harvesting Identify plants, pests, and weeds to determine the proper selection and application method of pesticides and fertilizers Cleaning the baskets, cartons, or bins used in the farm and ensuring proper maintenance of the agricultural farm Supervision of crops including planting, picking, and weeding Communicate with farm supervisors, managers and owners regarding crop progress and issues that may arise Maintain operational records and prepare inventory reports based on progress on a routine basis Perform general farm duties as needed.
