Our client partner covers the road and paving sector and is a leader in the Toronto Area. They are currently hiring for an Intermediate Health & Safety Coordinator/Officer for their operations with projects throughout the Toronto region. Projects include working around civil and MTO works.
Duties
- Day-to-day coordination, both on-site and office based in a fast-paced business unit
- Maintain Safety Management System (SMS) databases, administer sub-contractor programs, support job sites with project safety plans.
- Train and coach junior coordinators regarding correct safety procedures and protocols
- Recording and maintenance of the incident statistical database.
- Coordinate Joint Health and Safety Committee functions at office location and actively participate on the Committee.
- Coordinate Health and Safety Training as required.
- Produce regular reports and documentation as required.
- Liaise closely with clients, inspectors and peers in regards to ongoing safety for projects
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety (pursuing or completed) or sufficient credentials, NCSO or CRSP etc
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong ability to multitask
