<p><b>The role: </b>An opportunity for an experienced Heath & Safety leader to join an established operating mine site in Ontario. You'll play a key part in upholding the highest standards of workplace safety and promoting a safety first culture, while enjoying the benefits of a close-knit team environment.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Title</b>: Health & Safety Manager</p><p><b>Location</b>: Western Ontario </p><p><b>Roster</b>: Residential OR FIFO</p><p><b>Company</b>: Mid-Tier Mining Company</p><p><b>Reports to</b>: General Manager</p><p><b>Team size</b>: 12 in H&S team</p><p><br></p><p><b>Core responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Oversight of Health & Safety activities large producing mine site</li><li>Provide site leadership with ongoing safety performance updates</li><li>H&S Strategical thinking and leadership</li><li>Promote and lead a zero harm work culture</li><li>Coordinate risk management processes</li><li>Health & Safety training and assurance to site employees</li><li>Key stakeholder and regulatory body engagement</li><li>Incident investigation and corrective actions</li><li>Site emergency response, mine rescue, & firefighting systems / programs</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Requirements:</b></p><ul><li>10+ years health & safety leadership experience in a mining environment</li><li>Health & Safety related qualifications</li><li>Familiar with Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations</li><li>CRSP designation or actively working towards acquiring it</li><li>Knowledge of industrial hygiene</li><li>Both surface and underground mining experience preferrably</li><li>Excellent communication and leadership skills</li><li>Mining hazard identification</li></ul>
