They offer a professional working environment with many interesting projects that will keep you engaged in your day-to-day work!</p><p><br></p><p><b>Your new role</b></p><p><br></p><p>We are seeking a skilled High Voltage & Electrical Testing Technician to join the team. This role involves working alongside experienced professionals on high-voltage (HV) and substation projects, performing electrical testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of critical power systems.</p><p><br></p><p>Your day-to-day responsibilities will include performing electrical testing and commissioning of HV equipment, including:</p><ul><li>Circuit breakers (HV and 600V)</li><li>Transformers</li><li>Substation components</li><li>Power cables</li><li>Conduct protection and control system testing, including:</li><li>Relay programming and troubleshooting</li><li>Integration of control systems within switchgear</li><li>Support start-up and troubleshooting of electrical systems during commissioning phases.</li><li>Ensure compliance with safety standards and security clearance requirements.</li><li>Collaborate with team members and clients to deliver high-quality results.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Occasional travel within Ontario and Quebec may be required.</p><p><br></p><p>Significant overtime opportunities are available along with excellent benefits and a retirement package.</p><p><br></p><p><b>What you'll need to succeed</b></p><p>The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with circuit breakers, transformers, substations, cables, and advanced protection and control systems:</p><p><br></p><p>Mandatory:</p><ul><li>Red Seal 309A Electrician designation (transferable across IBEW locals)</li><li>Ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance (minimum Reliability)</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Ideally, your skills will include</p><ul><li>Electrical testing experience (NETA certification is an asset)</li><li>CET designation in electrical/electronics</li><li>Familiarity with protection and control systems, relay programming, and HV troubleshooting</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><b>What you'll get in return</b></p><p>This position offers significant overtime opportunities and travel flexibility, with 80-90% of work based in Ottawa.</p>
