<p><b>Intermediate Architectural Technologist</b></p><p><br></p><p><b>Must be currently based in Calgary (we are not considering relocation applicants)</b></p><p><br></p><p><b>Rectangle Design Inc.</b> is a fast-paced urban residential design-build firm based in Calgary. Founded in 2005, we’ve completed more than 200 custom homes, townhouses, and major renovations. Our model is rooted in accountability: we are as committed to the progressive design of our work as we are to the quality of its construction and the relationships we build with our clients.</p><p>We are growing and looking for an <b>Intermediate Architectural Technologist</b> with 3+ years of residential experience to join our team.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><b>The Role</b></p><p>You will work closely with both our Design and Construction teams to manage and deliver high-quality residential projects. From permit applications to working drawings, your expertise will ensure that design intent, bylaw compliance, and construction quality align seamlessly.</p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Prepare and submit <b>City of Calgary Development Permit</b> and <b>Building Permit</b> application sets</li><li>Produce detailed contract and working drawing sets, including floor plans, elevations, details, and specifications</li><li>Maintain and update construction drawings through project phases</li><li>Coordinate with designers, project managers, and subtrades to ensure accuracy and buildability</li><li>Support project schedules and manage documentation flow between design and construction teams</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><b>What We’re Looking For</b></p><ul><li><b>3+ years of residential architectural/technologist experience</b></li><li>Strong knowledge of <b>City of Calgary Bylaws</b> and the <b>National Building Code</b></li><li>Proficiency in <b>CAD software</b> </li><li>Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to balance quality with budget and schedule</li><li>Clear communicator with strong written and verbal skills</li><li>Must be <b>currently based in Calgary</b> (we are not considering relocation applicants)</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><b>General Information</b></p><ul><li><b>Location:</b> #100, 1604 10 Avenue S.W., Calgary</li><li><b>Office Hours:</b> Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.</li><li><b>Start Date:</b> As soon as possible</li><li><b>Application:</b> Please send your resume and portfolio to <b>employment@rectangle.ca</b>, addressed to <b>Shane Rennie</b></li><li><b>Compensation:</b> Please include your wage expectations with your application</li></ul><p><br></p>
