Join Our Team as a Janitorial/Caretaker!
We are seeking a dependable and professional Janitorial/Caretaker to join our team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for handyman duties, general building maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, and building move-in and move-out preparations. You will also complete weekly reports, respond promptly to client needs, and help ensure the smooth and efficient operation of daily building activities.
Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesSite Maintenance: Manage and supervise the site. Monitor and maintain the garbage and recycling rooms. Change light bulbs. Coordinate and supervise annual and seasonal building services and inspections.
Access & Security: Handle fob and enterphone programming.
Administrative Duties: Collect funds as directed, post notices, send emails, and submit caretaker reports.
Property Manager Relations: Maintain consistent communication with the property manager to ensure the building is secure, well-maintained, and operating smoothly. Conduct chemical checks for the hot tub (training will be provided).
Tenant Relations & Management: Respond promptly to tenant questions and requests. Report any concerning issues with tenants or residents to the property manager.
Exterior Grounds: Pick up litter around the entire exterior areas of the building, including sidewalks, courtyards, and driveway ramps.
Floor Care: Sweep and damp mop hard surface floors using a neutral cleaner.
Entrance / Lobby / Common Areas: Clean door frames, disinfect door handles, polish entry code panels, and vacuum walk-off mats.
Strong administrative skills
Flexibility, availability, and the ability to address requests promptly
Janitorial experience is an asset
Proven experience in janitorial, caretaker, or related fields
Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Proficiency with basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, scheduling software, etc.)
Experience working with hot tubs or swimming pools is an asset but not required
- Can handle move-out and move-in preparations for units
- Friendly, approachable personality and be comfortable interacting with residents
- Must have access to a reliable vehicle, as there is no nearby public transit
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday Friday
Shift Timing: 8am - 4pm
Start Date: February 1
Salary: $20.00 per hour
