Journeyman Electrician

Key Information:

  • Hours: Project dependent; Monday - Friday. Minimum 40 hours per week, with overtime necessary during the busy season (April-October)
  • Hourly rate is dependent on experience.

Job Description:

  • Interpret electrical code specifications.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
  • Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices.

Experience and Certification Requirements:

  • Journeyman Electrician Certification or equivalent is required.
  • Master Electrician would be preferred.
  • At least 2-3 years working as an Journey Level Electrician or equivalent experience required.
  • Arial Work Platform Certification.
  • Fall Arrest Certification.
  • H2S Alive.
  • CSTS 2020, and WHMIS 2015 are required.
  • You are able to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs) 9-23 Kg.
  • Arial Work Platform Certification.
  • Fall Protection & Rescue, Aerial Platform, Confined Spaces, Rigging/Hoisting and Hand. Signals, and First Aid/CPR certification would be an asset.
  • You have a safety conscious attitude and able to work with others in a team.
  • A reliable means of transportation is required.
  • Proficient English language skills required.

Education: Journeyman Certification of equivalent.
