Trendsetting scientific and medical solutions, we are driven by a fearless desire to facilitate discovery. </p><p><br /><strong>What You Will Do</strong></p><p>As Design Manager, you will contribute hands-on to design and project execution, ensuring technical excellence across all laboratory projects. Your responsibilities will include: </p><p><strong>Design & Technical Coordination</strong></p><ul><li>Develop, refine, and approve design concepts, technical drawings, and layouts using AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD platforms. </li></ul><ul><li>Detail mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and other technical connections required for laboratory casework and equipment. </li></ul><ul><li>Review architectural, mechanical, and other technical drawings to ensure feasibility and alignment with project requirements. </li></ul><ul><li>Prepare accurate take-offs and support cost estimates. </li></ul><ul><li>Produce and update shop drawings post-project award. </li></ul><ul><li>Support the sales team with technical detailing during the sales process to reduce administrative burden and enable client-facing activities. </li></ul><ul><li>Conduct site visits as needed for design verification and documentation. </li></ul><p><strong>Project Administration & Logistics</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain accurate project documentation, including financial records, meeting minutes, action items, and organized project files. </li></ul><ul><li>Track and follow up on project tasks to ensure timely delivery. </li></ul><ul><li>Coordinate shipping, receiving, and delivery logistics for project materials. </li></ul><ul><li>Assist with procurement, vendor coordination, and invoicing. </li></ul><p><strong>Cross-Functional Collaboration</strong></p><ul><li>Work closely with Project Managers, Client Relations, Sales, and Installers to clarify design details and confirm installation requirements. </li></ul><ul><li>Support multidisciplinary teams by maintaining drawing standards, templates, and internal documentation formats. </li></ul><ul><li>Provide proactive communication to resolve issues and maintain project readiness. </li></ul><p><strong><br />What You Bring to The Table </strong></p><ul><li>5–6 years of experience in design, laboratory furniture, technical drafting, and project coordination. </li></ul><ul><li>Proven experience in laboratory fit-outs, architectural projects, or complex furniture systems, including integration of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. </li></ul><ul><li>Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAD tools; SolidWorks experience is an asset. </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to read, interpret, and review technical drawings and spatial layouts. </li></ul><ul><li>Excellent organizational, documentation, and process-tracking skills. </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy. </li></ul><ul><li>Confident, clear communicator with professional assertiveness. </li></ul><ul><li>Familiarity with ERP or project management systems (LabPro, Procore, Smartsheet, MS Projects, or similar). </li></ul><ul><li>Willingness to travel to client sites as needed for design verification and documentation. </li></ul><ul><li>Growth-oriented, coachable mindset with a desire to take ownership and advance technically. </li></ul><p><strong>Nice to Haves / Benefits</strong></p><ul><li>Experience managing a small team of <span >designers/drafters.</span></li></ul><ul><li>Post-secondary education in design, drafting, construction technology, or related fields. </li></ul><ul><li>Exposure to logistics, procurement, or construction technology workflows. </li></ul><p><strong><br />Whats In It </strong><strong>For You </strong></p><p>Its a priority to take care of our team and reward them for their contributions.
