TD Securities seeks a hands‑on Lead Engineer/Development Manager to design and develop a scalable, resilient, high‑performing P&L reporting platform for Risk Analysts, Front Office Traders and Senior Executives. This role involves leading an engineering team, solving production issues, driving automation, and ensuring timely, high‑quality deliverables.


Responsibilities



  • Lead the team to deliver high quality software and help the business run more efficiently.

  • Manage multiple streams and follow proper code promotion processes.

  • Manage lower development environments and ensure environment stability.

  • Conduct design and code reviews to ensure software quality.

  • Reverse engineer legacy code, optimize performance, and address system bottlenecks.

  • Analyze production issues and provide permanent solutions.

  • Promote best practices and continuous integration/delivery.

  • Drive transformation by automating existing processes and improving data quality.

  • Explore new capabilities and technologies to drive innovation.

  • Manage an engineering team.

Technical Skills

  • 5+ years managing engineering teams.

  • 5+ years enterprise Spring tech stack; building microservices with Spring Boot.

  • 3+ years Scala/Spark experience.

  • Strong Hadoop, Spark, Parquet or similar Big Data technologies.

  • Proficient in Linux environments.

  • Experience designing and integrating REST APIs.

  • Experience with messaging technologies (Kafka).

  • Strong SQL and experience with non‑relational databases such as Cassandra.

  • Git, CI/CD (Maven, Jenkins) in Agile environments.

  • Knowledge of design patterns and best practices.

  • Experience developing and managing highly scalable, latency‑critical systems.

  • Passion for delivering high‑quality products, simplifying work, and promoting efficiency.


Business Skills



  • Excellent communication and collaboration with global teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with product managers and business sponsors.

  • Preferred: Hands‑on experience with market risk and/or PnL reporting.
