<p>Description<br>Lead Systems Engineering Staff Specialist/Engineer<br>Job Description<br>The Lead Systems Engineering (LSE) Staff Specialist/Engineer is responsible for overseeing the system and subsystem-level requirements, design, integration, and compliance assessments of our products, ensuring they meet rigorous performance, safety, and operational requirements. This role requires a deep understanding of both mechanical, electrical, tactical and weapon systems, and the ability to lead a multidisciplinary team through the entire product lifecycle from concept to technical data package release. The LSE Staff Specialist/Engineer is responsible for the development and execution of the design engineering process as well as development of requirements work products (SPS, SSPS, PDFS, SwRS, and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) work products).</p><p>Key Job Elements</p><ul><li>Lead the development, documentation, and management of system and subsystem requirements in DOORS and/or Cameo, etc. for both Production and IR&D projects; ensure all designs comply with the subsystem specifications needs. Engage with key stakeholders to makes sure requirements are aligned with customer and stakeholder needs.</li><li>Manage the requirement allocation activities (Size, Weight, Power, Cooling, Reliability, etc).</li><li>Develop and maintain requirements traceability to both customer requirements and internal GDLS standards.</li><li>Lead the integration of subsystems into complete vehicle systems, including support of the testing and validation processes to confirm functionality, reliability, and safety under various operational conditions.</li><li>Lead Design Maturity Review (DMR) meetings for assigned subsystems including risk management with supporting mitigation strategies.</li><li>Lead technical issue resolution between the company and clients, regulatory bodies, and subcontractors. Manage communication of complex technical information.</li><li>Lead the execution of the fundamentals of MBSE and systems engineering practices.</li><li>Prepare and review detailed technical reports, design documentation, and specifications. Ensure all project documentation is accurate and up-to-date.</li><li>Lead and/or contribute to the development of the System Engineering Plan (SEMP) and SE Planning Activities.</li><li>Manage and contribute to the Lessons learned database for active programs with respect to systems engineering process.</li><li>Facilitate and contribute as required to the subsystem design description development process.</li><li>Execute and Lead Systems Engineering activities (DMRs, Gates (SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR), TPM and product deliverables (CDRLs)).</li></ul><p>Required Qualifications</p><ul><li>University Degree or College Diploma in a related field</li><li>Minimum 5 years relevant experience in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Systems Engineering with previous experience in SysML and MBSE in Cameo</li><li>Strong technical and analytical ability</li><li>Product knowledge of Military/LAV family of vehicles</li><li>Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills</li><li>Superior organizational skills with the ability to be agile, set priorities and multi-task under pressure</li><li>Strong systems thinking perspective</li><li>Demonstrated ability to give presentations to internal and external customers.</li><li>Advanced computer skills in MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint</li><li>Ability to travel (5% Cdn) and (10% US & International) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport</li></ul><p>Preferred Qualifications</p><ul><li>P.Eng or the ability to obtain a P.Eng</li></ul><p>Working Conditions<br>Physical Conditions and Hazards:<br>The conditions in which an individual or staff works, including but not limited to such things as amenities, physical environment, stress and noise levels, degree of safety or danger, temperature, location.</p><ul><li>Physical Environment: Office</li><li>Hazards: NA</li></ul><p>Physical Demands Description<br>This section objectively captures and describes the physical demands that are required to perform a particular job or role.
