<p>Overview<br><em>Posted: September 12, 2025</em><br>We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Legal Assistant to provide direct support to two lawyers within our Litigation Department: one focused on Personal Injury law and the other on General Commercial Litigation. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing legal and administrative tasks across both areas of practice, ensuring seamless and efficient file handling, high-quality documentation, and top-tier client service.</p><p>This position requires a candidate with proven experience supporting both Personal Injury and Commercial Litigation files and a thorough understanding of the<br><em>Rules of Civil Procedure.</em><br>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Drafting, editing, and proofreading legal documents and correspondence with strong attention to detail</li><li>Preparation of pleadings, briefs, affidavits of documents, bills of costs, and motions for various levels of court</li><li>Organization and maintenance of large volumes of documentation using the firm's document management system</li><li>Managing day-to-day file administration, including opening, maintaining, and closing files</li><li>Coordinating and scheduling meetings, examinations for discovery, mediations, and court appearances</li><li>Responding to client inquiries and maintaining professional client relationships</li><li>Preparing dockets and accounts; assisting with billing and time entry</li><li>Assisting with eDiscovery processes, software, and procedures</li><li>Assisting with firm-wide or departmental projects and supporting other departments as needed</li></ul><p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>Diploma in Office Administration – Legal, Law Clerk, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience</li><li>Minimum of two years' experience in a legal assistant or law clerk role, supporting both Personal Injury and Commercial Litigation files</li><li>Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and related court processes</li><li>Familiarity with court filing procedures (in-person and electronic) at various levels</li><li>Proficient with PC desktop tools including MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)</li><li>Experience with legal accounting and docketing software considered an asset</li><li>Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset but not required</li><li>Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment</li><li>High level of accuracy and attention to detail</li><li>Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a legal team</li><li>Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li><li>A positive, proactive attitude and commitment to delivering high-quality client service</li></ul><p>Skills Required</p><ul><li>Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment</li><li>High level of accuracy and attention to detail</li><li>Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a legal team</li><li>Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li><li>A positive, proactive attitude and commitment to delivering high-quality client service</li></ul><p>Interested applicants should apply in confidence to </p>
