Job Description

Our Toronto boutique law firm client acts for Canada's largest financial institutions.  They are growing rapidly and seeking an experienced Litigation Lawyer to join their disputes team which handles: debt recovery and enforcement, commercial insolvency, mortgage remedies, forged instruments, fraud recovery, and priority disputes. 


The Role: Matters include recovery actions (secured/unsecured), mortgage enforcement & power of sale, receiverships and CCAA/BIA issues, fraudulent conveyances, negotiable instruments/forgery claims.


Responsibilities:
  • Manage files end-to-end: strategy, pleadings, motions, discoveries, mediations, trials/appeals.
  • Draft and argue motions (including summary judgment, security/priority relief, injunctions).
  • Advise institutional clients on risk, recovery strategy, and cost-effective resolution.
  • Work closely with partners and associates.


Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of litigation experience (commercial, banking/insolvency or civil).
  • Comfortable in court; strong written advocacy and drafting.
  • Proven file management and client communication skills.
  • Asset: experience with BIA/CCAA, fraud/forgery, PPSA/priority issues, mortgage enforcement.
  • Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.


Compensation: $90-110k, Benefits, vacation, sick days, indoor parking
