Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating freight shipments, managing transportation schedules, and ensuring seamless communication throughout the supply chain. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency in transportation management systems, and the ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Dispatcher plays a key role in maintaining operational efficiency and delivering excellent customer service by supporting shipping and receiving processes and ensuring timely freight movement.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule freight shipments using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and load boards such as Loadlink, DAT, and TruckStop.
- Manage daily shipping and receiving activities to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries.
- Utilize ELD systems and other data entry tools to track shipments, inventory, and related documentation.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, drivers, warehouse staff, and clients using multi-line phone systems, demonstrating professional phone etiquette.
- Analyze freight data to optimize routes, reduce transportation costs, and improve delivery performance.
- Monitor supply chain operations, ensuring compliance with company procedures and customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, delays, damages, and other logistics updates.
- Collaborate with warehouse teams to coordinate shipping/receiving schedules and support inventory management.
- Provide exceptional customer service by delivering timely and accurate shipment updates.
Qualifications
- Proven experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and load boards such as Loadlink, DAT, and TruckStop.
- Strong understanding of freight operations, dispatching, and supply chain processes.
- Excellent data entry skills with strong typing speed and accuracy.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to review logistics data and identify operational improvements.
- Excellent communication skills, including professional phone etiquette and experience with multi-line phone systems.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving is an asset but not required.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Experience Qualification:
- At least 3 years of experience in trucking dispatch and/or freight brokerage, with strong knowledge of LTL and FTL operations, including booking, load planning, and tracking. Candidates should bring an established network of brokers and/or direct customer relationships to help build steady freight volume and revenue.
Pay Structure
Commission-Based Pay:
- 2% of total gross revenue
