Schedule: Monday to Friday Daytime, Occasional Evenings and Weekends as needed.


Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000/ annually (based on experience and qualifications)

JOB PURPOSE


Reporting to the Director of Clinical and Health Services Technologies, the Manager, IT is responsible for supervising and mentoring the Medicentres IT team, including system and network analysts, as well as implementing, maintaining, and supporting all IT solutions that are utilized at Medicentres. This position also includes the implementation and monitoring of all cyber security and cloud services for Medicentres. Working with the broader Medavie IT teams, this role involves determining resource needs, implementing IT strategy, collaborating with other business units, and guiding the IT function and strategy within Medicentres.


PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES


Team Supervision



  • Supervise the IT team

  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to the team

  • Mentor and train team members, providing them the opportunity to further develop their technical and soft skills

  • Hands on support and guidance

  • Balance multiple requirements and priorities


IT Supervision and Technical



  • Ensure provision of 24/7 support for all Medicentres technology

  • Responsible for working with the Operations Team to design, configure, implement and manage all infrastructure, network and security equipment and services across the business.

  • Responsible for remote access of all employees

  • Implement and maintain all IT policies and procedures

  • Maintain all technical documentation, including architectural drawings required by 3rd parties

  • Monitor and analyze network and system performance across the organization

  • Ensures all changes to the environment follow the change management process

  • Assist in the development of the IT business strategy, with an emphasis on security and cloud

  • Assist with creating and maintaining the technology roadmap for the company

  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for all technologies, except EMR

  • Provide on-call support for all team members, staff and for 3rd parties during roll-outs

  • Selecting and testing new hardware and software as required by the business

  • Document each newly developed solution to assist in the deployment and on-going support

  • Manage assigned projects in a priority sequence to ensure deliverables are met on time

  • Find and deliver advanced technology solutions that benefit the business

  • Support the creation and maintenance of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), security assessments, and third-party risk management (TPRM) activities.


Organizational Leadership



  • Provide leadership to IT support, security, and infrastructure

  • Emulate and be a proponent of the company’s core values


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE



  • 5+ years of progressive experience in IT operations, including at least 2–3 years in a people-management or team-lead role, with accountability for infrastructure, security, and end-user support.

  • Proven experience leading IT initiatives end-to-end, from planning through implementation and operational support.

  • Strong working knowledge of on-prem and cloud infrastructure, networking, identity, and endpoint environments.

  • Practical understanding of cybersecurity operations, incident response, and working with SOC/NOC providers.

  • Experience developing and executing IT roadmaps and budgets in a distributed or multi-site environment.

  • Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux systems; scripting or automation (PowerShell, Bash) is an asset.

  • Working knowledge of healthcare privacy and security requirements (HIA, PIPEDA, PHIPA, PCI); PIA experience in Alberta is an asset.

  • Working knowledge of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), security assessments, and third-party risk management (TPRM) processes in a regulated environment.

  • Strong communication, organization, and customer-service skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment and with minimal supervision.


Additional Knowledge/ Skills



  • Experience with Clinical IT solutions such as Electronic Medical Records is an asset

  • Exposure to IT due diligence activities related to mergers, acquisitions, or clinic onboarding.

  • Experience participating in or supporting cybersecurity audits, assessments, or accreditations.


Education/ Certifications



  • Certification and/or formal education in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
