Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (P.Eng.) – Development Projects

Location: GTA / Ontario
Compensation: Up to $125,000 base (commensurate with experience)

Travel will be expected: Ontario, Nova Scotia & New Brunswick

About the Role

We are seeking a licensed Mechanical Engineer (P.Eng.) with 5–7 years of experience to lead the design, coordination, and stamping of mechanical systems for residential and mixed-use development projects. This role is hands-on and accountable, requiring strong technical judgment, code knowledge, and experience working through municipal approvals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering compliant, constructible mechanical designs while coordinating closely with architects, structural engineers, electrical consultants, and development teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and engineer mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection for low- to mid-rise residential and mixed-use projects
  • Review, sign, and stamp mechanical drawings and documents in accordance with provincial regulations
  • Ensure designs comply with OBC, ASHRAE, CSA, NFPA, and applicable municipal standards
  • Prepare and sign Schedule 1 / Schedule B documents as required
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to resolve design and constructability issues
  • Respond to municipal plan review comments, RFIs, and site inquiries
  • Provide technical support during construction, including site reviews and deficiency resolution
  • Assist with energy efficiency measures and sustainability requirements where applicable
  • Maintain quality control, documentation standards, and project schedules


Qualifications & Experience

  • P.Eng. designation (Ontario) – required
  • 5–7 years of mechanical engineering experience in building design / development projects
  • Proven experience stamping mechanical drawings
  • Strong working knowledge of Ontario Building Code and municipal approval processes
  • Experience with residential, mixed-use, or commercial developments
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment


Preferred Assets

  • Experience working directly with developers or MEP consulting firms
  • Exposure to Toronto and GTA municipalities
  • Construction-phase involvement and site experience
  • Energy modeling or high-performance building exposure (an asset, not required)
