Astellas Pharma Canada (APCA) is seeking a Medical Science Liaison, reporting to the Head of TA Specialty MA-Canada.
Position Overview :
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) acts as a scientific and medical expert in facilitating non-promotional scientific exchange and translating scientific knowledge into value for patients, aligned with Astellas’ strategic goals. This role involves implementing regional field-based medical and scientific tactics supporting the TA Medical Strategic Plan for in-line and developmental compounds.
Key Responsibilities :
- Stakeholder Relationship Activities :
- Develop and execute a Stakeholder Identification and Engagement Plan aligned with the TA Medical Affairs strategic plan and business priorities.
- Build trusted relationships with medical stakeholders to provide non-promotional scientific value and improve patient care.
- Represent Astellas Medical Affairs at provincial HTA and payer meetings, coordinating resources and clinical input for collaborations.
- Understand the medical, healthcare, HTA, and payer landscape to address scientific and HEOR gaps in collaboration with colleagues.
- Identify research capabilities and potential investigators within the region.
- Lead regional profiling and communicate insights.
- Provide TA expertise for study sites, supporting investigator-sponsored research as needed.
- Interpret and communicate stakeholder insights to shape medical strategies.
- Support scientific meetings, expert meetings, and internal training.
- Develop content for strategic MSL activities and act as a medical interface with stakeholders to ensure customer voice is represented.
- Present scientific data at various venues, discuss approved scientific information, and identify opportunities for medical education events.
- Lead development of medical materials to address TA needs.
- Maintain scientific expertise on relevant diseases and products, ensuring activities comply with governance guidelines and SOPs.
