Africa World Market is Canada's first Afro-Caribbean supermarket chainWith just under 20,000 square feet of retail space, our flagship location carries a wide selection of carefully selected Afro-Caribbean, Latin American and Asian specialty foods, meats, and fresh produce at the best possible prices.
Plus, shop a large variety of household essentials, home décor, beauty products, accessories, and more We also have a wholesale distribution center specializing in retail and food service.
We are currently looking for experienced Merchandisers to join our team
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and execution of merchandising resets and strategies
- Stock, arrange, price, and replenish products on shelves and in coolers to ensure customers find what they need
- Assemble/set-up displays and store fixtures
- Perform walkthrough at the start and end of each shift and provide feedback to Store Management
- Ensure all products are merchandised, priced, and labeled correctly to maximize sales
- Identify, document and remove any damaged or expired products from shelves
- Maintain overall image of the store, including cleanliness, displays, signage, labels, pricing, shelf layouts, etc.
- Inventory management
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' merchandising experience; preferably in a high-volume grocery, retail or warehouse environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have reliable transportation
- Able to read and follow planograms
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Open availability
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills and a commitment to meeting tight deadlines
- Detail-oriented and extremely well organized
- Eye for visual presentation
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Fluency in English and French an asset
*** Must be able to work 30 hours per week.
Job Type: Part-time or Full-time
Salary: From $15.00/Hr
