We are looking for an Application Production Engineer for one of our clients, an investment bank set in Montreal.


Role Overview :

The team manages the information system for capital markets activities (pre-trade, post-trade, risks).

The covers application support, maintenance and developments of the application information system.

The team is responsible for Pre-Trade workflows with multiple Sales-Traders applications dedicated by product and a global blotter to centralize all the transactions done in one tool.


The team is responsible for a global application to monitor the commercial activity of Capital Markets in coordination with the Marketing/Sales/e-business/Middle Office departments. This application is used by Sales to manage their transactions, their sales margins and their performance.

The candidate will have to provide technical support for Sales, Indicative Contribution, and Sales E-Negotiation Trader applications.

The applications concerned are the result of internal developments around pre-trade Sales-Trades workflow.

The technical support team is involved in managing changes and putting them into production with the Build and QA teams.


Key responsibilities:


The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to :


Case and incident management in collaboration with functional support teams, MOA, MOE and infrastructure:


• Incident management, including root cause identification

• Perform actions necessary to restore service


• Managing User Requests

• Documentation of incidents and updating of procedures


• Problem management and monitoring

Change and production management:

• Contribution and validation of architecture documents in the project phase


• Recommending technical solutions in production standards

• Validate changes from a technical point of view; validate deployment scripts and procedures.


• Making pre-production and UAT changes

• Completion of production changes and validation tests…


Required Qualifications and Skills:


• Delivery Management


• Agility process

• Continuous improvement


• Good knowledge of scripting (ksh, VBA, PowerShell, Perl)

• Good knowledge of Control-M


• Experience using Linux, Windows server, IIS, MQ

• Network knowledge: TCP/IP, Firewall, NAT, LAN, MAN, WAN, etc.


• Experience using Monitoring tools: use and configuration of an ITRS monitoring tool

• Good knowledge of SQL


• Basic knowledge of financial markets and products finance

• Knowledge of ITIL processes


• Good documentation writing skills
