This modern, purpose-built center provides short-term care to adult patients transitioning from acute care settings back to their homes or communities. It is not a hospital or long-term care facility.<br>This full-time role places Nurse Practitioners in a leadership position as the Most Responsible Health Care Provider (MRP), offering a rare opportunity to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care in a highly collaborative and supportive environment.</p><p>What You'll Be Doing:</p><ul><li>Act as the primary healthcare provider for patients in transitional care.</li><li>Independently assess, diagnose, prescribe, and treat within your legislated scope.</li><li>Lead clinical teams on-site, providing direct supervision and clinical expertise.</li><li>Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including restorative care professionals, nurses, and allied health staff.</li><li>Create care plans aligned with patient and family goals to help patients return home or to their communities.</li></ul><p>Qualifications:</p><ul><li>Education: Master's Degree in Nursing with Nurse Practitioner Certification.</li><li>Licensure: Eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing.</li><li>Experience: 2-3 years as a Nurse Practitioner preferred (acute or rehabilitative care ideal).</li><li>Practice Setting: Must be comfortable with hands-on care in an on-site setting.</li><li>Note: Candidates with Pediatric NP backgrounds cannot be considered due to licensing limitations.</li></ul><p>Key Skills Required:</p><ul><li>Advanced clinical decision-making and diagnostic ability.</li><li>Leadership and shift supervisory capabilities.</li><li>Strong teamwork within an interdisciplinary care environment.</li></ul><p>Work Schedule & Setting:</p><ul><li>Schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:00</li><li>Patient Load: Approximately 22-23 patients per NP</li><li>Team: 3 NPs currently on staff, 4 new roles being added</li><li>On-Call: No on-call requirement at this time</li><li>Overtime: Paid as per the NSNU Collective Agreement</li><li>Other Premiums: Shift premiums and other benefits outlined in the NSNU Collective Agreement</li><li>Facility Perks:<ul><li>Brand-new, purpose-built care center</li><li>No traffic congestion in West Bedford</li><li>Free on-site parking</li></ul></li></ul><p>Compensation & Benefits:</p><ul><li>Salary: Unionized wage scale aligned with NS Health (exact rate discussed during interview)</li><li>Relocation: Reimbursement up to $5,000 CAD with receipts</li><li>Benefits: Full coverage for medical, dental, vision, mental health services, and virtual healthcare access</li><li>Pension: Participation in the NSHEPP pension plan (fully transferable from NS Health)</li><li>Perks:<ul><li>Employee Assistance Program</li><li>Tuition reimbursement</li><li>Access to the WorkPerks discount program</li></ul></li></ul><br>Create Your Resume First
