<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p>Salary: $22 - $25<br /><p>Position Summary:<br />We are seeking a Payroll Administrator at Honey Electric Limited to manage and process payroll for our field and office employees. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of payroll compliance, specifically in construction or trades industries, and experience with construction-related payroll systems.</p><p><br /></p><p>General Accountability:<br />The incumbent shall be responsible for ensuring payroll and administrative Human Resources responsibilities are handled in a timely manner, with accuracy and confidentiality. This position requires the ability to work independently and prioritize duties to meet deadlines.</p><p><br /></p><p>Reporting Relationship:<br />This position reports to the Manager of Human Resources. This position has no direct reports.</p><p><br /></p><p>Key Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Exude a people-first culture</li><li>Process weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees in a timely and accurate manner</li><li>Ensure compliance with relevant federal and provincial legislation (CRA, WSIB, ESA)</li><li>Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including hours, benefits, deductions, and vacation/sick time</li><li>Reconcile payroll-related accounts and assist with year-end processes, including T4s and ROEs</li></ul><ul><li>Identify, analyze and resolve any payroll issues</li></ul><ul><li>Coordinate remittances for payroll taxes, benefits, and other withholdings</li><li>Assist with onboarding of new employees from a payroll perspective</li><li>Maintain an accurate and up-to-date database with employee status changes, including personal details, tax information, and banking information</li><li>Support HR and accounting functions as needed</li><li>Remaining in compliance with legal, moral and ethical standards</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Qualifications:</p><ul><li>3+ years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in the construction or skilled trades sector</li><li>A college diploma in either Human Resources (HR) or Business Administration</li><li>Must have strong computer skilled (Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)</li><li>Knowledge of Ontario labour laws and CRA payroll regulations</li><li>Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail</li><li>Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion</li><li>Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or working towards it is a plus</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Skill Requirements:</p><ul><li>Ability to plan and organize</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively</li><li>Preparation of payroll data</li><li>Following accounting principles and practices</li><li>Ensure integrity of payroll</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Physical & Mental Demands:</p><ul><li>Office setting; work at a desk</li><li>Long periods of sitting, sometimes standing</li><li>Frequent computer use, data entry, spreadsheets, payroll software requiring manual dexterity</li><li>Visual demands: up close and detailed work, reading small print, reviewing documents on screen and switching between screens or documents</li><li>Constant pressure to meet payroll deadlines without errors</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Sensory Attention:</p><ul><li>Attention to detail</li><li>Numerical accuracy</li><li>Listening skills</li><li>Selective attention</li><li>Error detection</li></ul><p></p><p>Compensation:</p><ul><li>Hourly rate (range from $22.00 - $25.00)</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Benefits:</p><ul><li>Extended Health Care and Dental Coverage</li><li>Vision Care</li><li>Group Retirement Savings Plan</li><li>Profit Sharing</li><li>Supportive team environment and opportunities for professional development</li><li>A chance to be part of a growing, dynamic company</li></ul><p></p><p>Honey Electric Limited is an equal opportunity employer committed to fair and accessible employment practices that attract and retain talented employees in an inclusive, supportive workplace.
