Based in Markham, our modern facility is home to a dynamic team working on cutting-edge photonics technology. We are currently seeking a <strong>Photonics Engineer</strong> to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is creative, technically skilled, and passionate about hands-on optical experiments, design and innovation. If you enjoy solving complex engineering challenges and bringing advanced laser systems to life, we'd love to hear from you.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Design, build, and test custom laser systems and modules.</li><li>Perform precision optical alignment of lasers and photonic assemblies.</li><li>Develop custom tooling and fixture solutions for assembly and testing.</li><li>Conduct measurement, characterization, and validation of optical components.</li><li>Prepare detailed technical documentation, including inspection reports, test plans, and results.</li><li>Source components, fixtures, and specialized test equipment.</li><li>Rapidly prototype electro-optical assemblies to support product development.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Basic Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Master's or PhD degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field. </li><li>Experience handling and characterizing photonic assemblies (lasers, detectors, etc.).</li><li>Skilled in building and aligning opto-electronic assemblies.</li><li>Knowledge of passive and active photonic component design.</li><li>Proficient with small, sensitive optical component alignment techniques.</li><li>Experience using Zemax and AutoCAD.</li><li>Strong oral and written communication skills in English.</li><li>Legally eligible to work in Canada.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p><ul><li>The opportunity to work with a dynamic, ambitious team.</li><li>Competitive compensation, health, and medical benefits.</li><li>Access to a state-of-the-art lab and engineering tools.</li><li>The ability to make a visible impact and contribute meaningfully to company growth.</li><li>An on-site basketball court and gym.</li></ul><p></p>
