PLC/Manufacturing Engineering Technician [14176]

Job Description

<p>Our client, an automotive tier one supplier requires a <b>PLC / Manufacturing Engineering Technician</b> to join their team on a two month contract. This position could lead to a full time direct position based on the candidates skill set and work ethic. Position reports directly to Plant Manager.</p><p><br></p><p><b>NOTE:</b></p><ul><li>Afternoon Shift</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p><ul><li>Work with manufacturing to maximize production and quality through continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes and development of new process for new product launches</li><li>Designing specialized jigs and fixtures</li><li>Support product development through development of engineering design, analysis, and tests</li><li>Work with manufacturing on machine set-up and programing to maximize production and quality on initial product runs</li><li>Problem-solve with an experienced team (mechanical and controls engineering and skilled trades manufacturing), throughout the entire programming, tryout, and installation phases</li><li>Observe machine operation to detect malfunctions and out of tolerance product; and to ensure machine functionality is within specifications. Work with manufacturing to adjust as required</li><li>Provide status updates on projects while meeting project deadlines</li><li>Lead training of PLC end-users at customer locations and represent utilizing results-driven problem-solving skills</li><li>Focus on IATF standards; conduct internal IATF audits</li><li>Work with quality department to verify quality of finished product before shipment</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:</b></p><ul><li>Technician Certificate or Mechanical Engineering Technician Diploma. Certified Engineering Technologist designation an asset</li><li>Minimum of Three (3) years of experience in PLC programming/editing/troubleshooting with Allen Bradley RS Logix 5000 in a automotive manufacturing required; JIT experience an asset</li><li>Experience with Fanuc robotics</li><li>Atlas Copco PF 6000 torque controller experience</li><li>Time study experience</li><li>JIT Production environment experience</li><li>Production cell layout experience</li><li>Knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD and MasterCAM</li><li>Team player with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills</li><li>A proven ability to work well within a team-based work environment, prioritizing plans of action to accomplish objectives</li><li>Problem solving skills with the ability to adapt and drive continuous improvement</li><li>Project Management Experience</li><li>Knowledge of control of non-conforming product and tagging procedures</li><li>Experience working to plant KPIs</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>MEDA offers an excellent referral bonus.
