Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Discipline Engineering, the Process Engineer will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and overseeing processes to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role requires strong technical expertise in process engineering, data analysis, and process improvement, while collaborating across teams to support operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize processes to improve efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
- Provide technical support in process design and optimization, including process modeling, compressor evaluations, equipment sizing and specification, and device sizing.
- Analyze operational data to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with engineers, operators, and stakeholders to develop and implement process improvements.
- Prepare and maintain process documentation, including process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), shutdown keys, and control narratives.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in process engineering activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered with APEGA, with the ability to authenticate engineering deliverables.
- Minimum of 10+ years of process engineering experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong working knowledge of upstream oil and gas facilities, including well pads, compressor stations, oil batteries, and facility design.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, CSA Z662, API, and others.
- Expertise in process design, optimization, and control for both brownfield and greenfield projects.
- Proficiency in process simulation and modeling software (e.g., HYSYS, Promax).
- Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork abilities.
