<h3><b>Why This Role Will Matter</b></h3>
<p>The <b>Procurement Specialist</b> will take a hands‑on role in managing procurement activities within the <b>Engineering & Procurement (EP) scope</b>. The ideal candidate will have experience working in <b>EPC project execution</b>, ensuring smooth coordination between contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders. This role requires a strong ability to oversee procurement strategies, schedules, and deliverables while proactively managing risks and ensuring compliance with logistics and documentation requirements.</p>
<h3><b>What You’ll Be Driving</b></h3>
<p>Key responsibilities include:</p>
<ul>
<li><b>Contractor Management:</b> Oversee and manage EP contractors on behalf of the client, ensuring alignment with procurement strategies, schedules, and deliverables.</li>
<li><b>Cross‑functional Coordination:</b> Work closely with engineering, project controls, and construction teams to keep procurement activities on track with the overall execution plan.</li>
<li><b>Procurement Execution:</b> Take full responsibility for purchasing and expediting tasks, including issuing RFQs, evaluating bids, cutting POs, and coordinating timely material deliveries.</li>
<li><b>Supplier & Vendor Relations:</b> Maintain regular contact with vendors and contractors to resolve issues efficiently and elevate risks when necessary.</li>
<li><b>Performance Monitoring:</b> Track procurement milestones and vendor performance, ensuring contractor deliverables align with project objectives.</li>
<li><b>Compliance & Documentation:</b> Ensure proper documentation control, adhering to logistics and customs requirements.</li>
<li><b>Stakeholder Engagement:</b> Lead or support procurement‑related meetings, representing the client during contractor coordination and performance reviews.</li>
<li><b>Risk Management:</b> Apply a strong understanding of EPC project execution, contractor oversight, schedule integration, and proactive risk management.</li>
</ul>
<h3><b>What You’ll Need to Stand‑out</b></h3>
<p>Core qualifications and requirements:</p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.</li>
<li>12+ years of experience in procurement, preferably in EPC projects.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of contractor management, procurement processes, and supply chain best practices.</li>
<li>Expertise in RFQ, PO issuance, vendor negotiations, and expediting.</li>
<li>Familiarity with Incoterms, logistics, and customs regulations.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.</li>
<li>Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Where work will be: Onsite, South West Ontario</b> (specific location TBC)</p>
<ul>
<li>Onsite with visits to engineering offices, contractor offices and sites for walkthrough and other team meetings</li>
</ul>
