<p>We are seeking a Project Director to join our growing Canadian Operations in Markham, Whitby, Mississauga, or Toronto.</p>
<p>The Transportation Group within GHD Canada works with major municipalities including York Region, Peel Region, and the City of Toronto delivering municipal transportation planning and design projects. Our team is growing fast in Ontario, striving to create lasting value for our clients by creating and delivering solutions to complex transportation infrastructure problems.</p>
<h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Successful delivery of highway planning and design projects.</li>
<li>Leading multi‑disciplinary teams for preliminary and detail design road and bridge projects for municipal clients as a Project Manager.</li>
<li>Taking ownership for all aspects of project management from proposal to close‑out, including managing teams, sub‑consultants, budgets, schedules, quality, safety, and client satisfaction.</li>
<li>Providing technical leadership and mentorship to intermediate and junior staff.</li>
<li>Teamwork in small and large teams, owning the integration with other engineering disciplines and design staff in the production of high‑quality project deliverables.</li>
<li>Managing staff including performance, workload, and supporting their technical and professional development.</li>
<li>Promoting best practices and leadership in transportation projects.</li>
<li>Supporting Business Development including capture planning and leading proposals.</li>
<li>Contributing to the development and execution of the business development strategy for MTO and related clients, including creating capture plans and enhancing client relationships.</li>
<li>Applying expertise using a variety of transportation solutions to help our clients, including corridor planning, highway and freeway planning and design, green infrastructure strategies, intersection and interchange design, digital delivery, integrated transportation technology/ITS solutions, managing highway and bridge rehabilitation and expansion design projects, and roundabout design.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Post‑secondary degree in Civil Engineering.</li>
<li>Ontario P.Eng. designation required (or eligible).</li>
<li>15+ years of experience in planning and design of transportation infrastructure projects, including project management experience.</li>
<li>Experience working with Ministry of Transportation of Ontario.</li>
<li>Experience working with other highway agencies and municipal transportation clients is an asset.</li>
<li>Experience managing design projects in collaborative models (e.g., Progressive Design‑Build, Alliance, CMGC) is an asset.</li>
<li>Excellent written and oral communication skills.</li>
<li>Proven track record of developing, mentoring, and leading professional technical staff.</li>
