<p>Orchard House Surgery, in Newmarket on the border of Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, is seeking a salaried GP to join our friendly teaching and training practice for both Cambridge Medical Students and Bury St Edmunds GPSTP. This position is for 6 sessions a week, worked Monday, Wednesday and Friday.</p><p>The practice is one of three based in Newmarket that provides a high level of care to our patients in Newmarket and surrounding villages and we can offer the following;</p><ul><li>Large, well-equipped, purpose-built premises with free onsite parking, and within walking distance of Newmarket town.</li><li>Lunchtime educational meetings with lunch provided.</li><li>Two timetabled coffee breaks to help us support one another at 11am and 4.00pm.</li><li>Supported by an experienced nursing team who run minor illness and chronic disease clinics.</li><li>Practice-integrated PCN staff: part-time clinical pharmacist, part-time social prescriber, full-time emergency care practitioner as well as access to an MSK FCP service including steroid injection clinics.</li><li>Experienced and dedicated reception and admin team.</li><li>Outstanding CQC & track record of high QOF achievement.</li><li>Personal development encouraged and supported.</li><li>Competitive salary & MDU fees paid.</li><li>Excellent access and appointment management system in place.</li></ul><h3>Main duties of the job</h3><p>All applicants should have the following qualifications:</p><ul><li>Fully qualified GP with GMC registration</li><li>Annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate)</li><li>Be on the NHSE medical performers list</li></ul><p>and skills, including:</p><ul><li>Good understanding and experience of chronic disease management, and primary prevention and screening services;</li><li>Ability to take responsibility for your own career development, learning and performance and are responsible for ensuring that all your mandatory training is in date;</li><li>Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies and guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety;</li><li>Commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice;</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a confidential manner.</li></ul><h3>About us</h3><p>We are a 6-partner PMS practice with approximately 12,000 patients.
