Senior Hardware Designer – Responsibilities



  • Lead hardware development projects and advise and mentor other team members.

  • Own all aspects of circuit pack development schedule, prototype delivery, product testing, and product certification.

  • Work with product line management and other managers to interpret and negotiate product features and specifications.

  • Lead and interface with contract resources outside of your organization.

  • Define technical specifications to support design concepts, and participate in specification peer reviews.

  • Participate in design reviews, guide technical discussions to conclusion.

  • Interface with component vendors and negotiate design specifications with external suppliers.

  • Review designs to ensure they meet architecture goals.

  • Support the technology transfer to manufacturing/production testing.


Requirements



  • Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent, coupled with 12+ years experience in optical transport or fiber access equipment development or high‑speed circuit pack development.

  • Experience with 1RU‑14RU carrier‑grade system requirements and high‑speed optical and access fiber transmission systems.

  • Experience with board‑level development and being a lead designer for development projects.

  • Experience and understanding of design for testability and manufacturability concepts.

  • Experience in developing environmentally hardened optical transport and access systems.

  • Experience with a variety of optical interfaces and telecommunications standards up to 400G and beyond is an asset.
