Senior Information Technology Project Manager
Job Description
We are looking for a Senior IT Project Manager for a long-term position, starting with a 6-month contract, in Calgary, Alberta. This position is 100% on site, downtown. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Role Description
Our client has a lot of software implementation, security and cloud initiatives on their roadmap so having some knowledge and experience in that would be helpful, but not mandatory. They want a solid Project Manager that fits within their culture. Here are some of key characteristics they are looking for:
- 8+ years of experience as an IT Project Manager
- Leadership - creates a collaborative team atmosphere and has the ability to drive the project forward
- Time, cost and scope management
- Able to lay out a solid plan and budget
- Well defined, documented and transparent scope is managed through the project
- Ensure the plan is communicated effectively and being adhered to
- Costs are managed and monitored
- Stakeholder management
- Understands and executes proper stakeholder assessments and engagements; involving them in the project at the appropriate times
- Stakeholder relationships are a priority to ensure buy-in and project success
- Change and Communication
- Builds and executes on solid change management and communication plans
- Ensure our organization is prepared for the changes
- Experience in the Oil and Gas industry is a strong asset
Soft Skills:
- Hard-working and willing to take on challenges as well as self-starter that takes initiative when it comes to completing all necessary tasks
- Able to work in a team environment as well as independently
- Can deal with some ambiguity and less structure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
