Data Analytics, Power BI, Internal Audit, Controls, IIA, CIA, QBE, Algorithms, total population sampling <p> <strong>Your new company</strong><span> </span><br>A public sector organisation is seeking an experienced/qualified Internal Auditor/ Internal Controls specialist with a background in Data Analytics – working on a hybrid arrangement, with 3 days a week working in an office based in either London or Oldham areas and with some limited travel to other UK sites.<br><br><strong>Your new role</strong><span> </span><ul><li>Your role will focus on the use of data analytics within an Internal Audit and Controls setting, and the delivery of data-driven internal control and compliance reviews for the organisation.</li><li>Working in a small team, you will focus on developing the use of data analytics using Power BI and integrated algorithms to automate areas of controls testing for the organisation.</li><li>You will identify areas where digitisation can improve efficiency, accuracy, or compliance and document control processes and gaps, designing and implementing data analytics tests to monitor control effectiveness.</li><li>You will implement continuous monitoring of risks using dashboards and ensure digitised controls align with regulatory and internal compliance standards.</li><li>You will use data analytics to detect anomalies, trends, or outliers that indicate risk or potential fraud and recommend remediation strategies based on data insights.</li><li>You will integrate data analytics into end-to-end audit processes, performing audits using data-driven techniques to improve coverage and precision.</li><li><strong><br></strong><strong>What you'll need to succeed</strong><span> </span><br><br></li><li>You will have experience of, and a keen interest in, developing your experience in the field of data analytics within an Internal Audit setting. </li><li>You will have experience using Power BI and the use of algorithms and total population sampling. </li><li>You will ideally be a qualified IIA, Internal Auditor with a public sector background, and experience of Internal Controls Testing. Or you may be a larger-firm trained Internal Auditor, who is qualified and seeking a move out of practice. </li><li>You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation.</li><li>You will need a full driving licence as there is some occasional travel within England to other offices.
