<p><b>Position Overview</b></p><p>A well-established engineering firm in Prince George is seeking an experienced <b>Senior</b> <b>Structural Engineer (P.Eng)</b> to join their team. This role requires a technically strong engineer with a growth mindset who can lead design work, oversee projects on-site, and mentor junior engineers. The primary focus will be on building structures including woodframe, steel, and concrete, as well as multifamily residential and small to medium-sized industrial projects.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Further Responsibilities Include the Following</b></p><ul><li>Lead design work for a variety of structural projects (woodframe, steel, tilt-up concrete panels).</li><li>Conduct field reviews and inspections of structural steel erections, concrete pours, and woodframe construction.</li><li>Provide oversight, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers, EITs, and drafters.</li><li>Collaborate with contractors, architects, and internal teams.</li><li>Review drawings, perform calculations, and prepare engineering reports.</li><li>Apply technical expertise in seismic design where applicable.</li><li>Utilize software such as S-Frame (Altair), Revit, and Excel-based calculation tools.</li><li>Prepare engineering budgets and proposal packages.</li><li>Research, develop, and check technical specifications used in the design process.</li><li>Act as Engineer of Record and serve as the designated client contact.</li><li>Develop project specifications and handle routine contract administration.</li><li>Take an active role in promoting the business interests of the company.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Ideal Candidate Requirements</b></p><ul><li>BSc in Civil or Structural Engineering.</li><li>Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in good standing with EGBC or other provincial jurisdictions.</li><li>Minimum 8 years of relevant structural engineering experience.</li><li>Strong technical design skills with proven on-site leadership experience.</li><li>Background in steel, concrete, or woodframe buildings; experience with mechanical support structures (e.g., conveyors) is an asset.</li><li>Experience in multifamily residential and small to medium industrial & commercial projects.</li><li>Experience sealing drawings as a P.Eng.</li><li>Civil engineering experience (roads, drainage, culverts, catch basins) is an asset.</li><li>Flexible, proactive, and capable of problem-solving in field situations.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Why This Firm</b></p><ul><li>Opportunities abound to progress your career in a small to medium-sized engineering firm.</li><li>Freedom to innovate and explore different structural solutions.</li><li>Positive workplace culture with collaborative teams.</li><li>Extended health benefits.</li><li>Coverage of professional fees.</li><li>Encouragement for continuing education.</li><li>Paid parking.</li><li>Performance bonus opportunities.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Interested candidates are encouraged to send their resume in Word format to this posting or email <b>christopher.phillips@torustalent.com</b>.
