DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced Solution Designer to join our team and play a critical role in translating business requirements into robust technical solutions. This position involves working closely with Product Owners, assignment managers, and technical teams to design infrastructure solutions that align with business objectives and operational needs. This is a 6 month contract with the likelihood of extension. Hybrid every Tuesday in downtown Toronto and every 2nd Friday of the month.

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work under the guidance of the Assignment Manager who oversees US and International relationships.


• Align priorities with business objectives and ensure timely delivery of solution designs.


• Analyze project requirements provided by App Operations and App Development teams and translate them into technical solution designs.


• Address infrastructure considerations such as:
  
  
  
  • Network: bandwidth, capacity, access
  
  
  • Security: application and database security
  
  
  
  


• Act as a technology generalist with a broad understanding of multiple domains.


• Engage with business stakeholders to clarify requirements and narrow down options using strong business analysis skills.


• Collaborate with a team of solution experts to ensure feasibility and compliance.


• Utilize Confluence and participate in costing processes within the Costing Centre of Excellence.


• Prepare cost estimates and ensure accurate financial planning for proposed solutions.


• Ask the right technical questions to gather necessary details and translate them into infrastructure requirements.

Skills and Requirements

• 6+ years within Application Technology and Infrastructure.


• Broad technical knowledge across infrastructure and application domains.


• Strong background in solution design and technical architecture.


• Proficiency in database technologies (SQL Server, Oracle).


• Experience with API infrastructure.


• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and its service offerings.


• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.


• Azure certifications (bonus).


• Exposure to BI products such as Cognos and Informatica.


• Knowledge of Oracle containerization.


• Experience in presales or costing processes for technology solutions.
