<p><h3>Work Arrangement:</h3><p>Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Markham Elevation Centre (MEC) three times per week, at minimum.</p>
<h3>The Role</h3>
<ul>
<li>The Data Engineering organization at General Motors is at the forefront of innovation, leveraging data to drive the future of mobility. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Calibration Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will have complete responsibility for system design and execution. The system in question will define and validate parameters in critical configuration files that govern the state of the vehicle's Control and Data planes. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle architectures, communication protocols, and software development principles, along with excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse engineering teams.</li>
</ul>
<h3>What You'll Do (Responsibilities)</h3>
<ul>
<li>Define and document the 'development' and 'production' calibration values that govern the function of the control and data plane (Calibration Guides and Procedures).</li>
<li>Develop and maintain configuration files that dictate the operational state of the vehicle's Control and Data planes.</li>
<li>Collaborate closely with software engineers, controls engineers, and validation teams to understand system requirements and ensure accurate calibration values.</li>
<li>Utilize your understanding of vehicle architectures, including the interaction between different electronic control units (ECUs) and systems.</li>
<li>Apply your knowledge of communication protocols such as Controller Area Network (CAN) and Ethernet to define and validate network configurations.</li>
<li>Analyze and interpret vehicle data logs to identify calibration discrepancies and optimize system performance.</li>
<li>Develop and execute test plans to validate the accuracy and robustness of calibration files.</li>
<li>Troubleshoot and resolve calibration-related issues that arise during development and production.</li>
<li>Maintain meticulous records of calibration parameters, changes, and validation results.</li>
<li>Contribute to the continuous improvement of calibration processes and tools.</li>
<li>Participate in cross‑functional team meetings to provide calibration expertise and contribute to overall vehicle development.</li>
