<p><b>Fulltime </b></p><p><b>Location</b>: Port Coquitlam</p><p><b>Staffing Placement Opportunity</b></p><p><br></p><p>Our client is seeking a highly skilled and security-conscious <b>Systems Administrator</b> to join a growing IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing the organization's IT infrastructure - including servers, networks, endpoints, and cloud environments.</p><p>You'll play a critical role in implementing system and security best practices, managing on-premises and cloud-based systems, and ensuring the reliability and resilience of IT operations. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about technology, security, and continuous improvement.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Develop, implement, and maintain IT and security policies, standards, and procedures.</li><li>Administer, monitor, and maintain computer systems, applications, and networks across On-Premises and Azure environments.</li><li>Implement and enforce system hardening standards, patch management, and update policies.</li><li>Manage and troubleshoot Office 365, Azure IaaS, and PaaS infrastructure.</li><li>Ensure data backups are performed securely and reliably across On-Premises, Office 365, and Azure environments.</li><li>Configure, monitor, and maintain firewalls, endpoint protection, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.</li><li>Support and manage core Microsoft services such as Active Directory, Windows Server, and Remote Desktop Services.</li><li>Oversee endpoint management including software deployment, device configuration, and policy enforcement.</li><li>Collaborate with internal teams to support business operations and resolve complex technical issues.</li><li>Educate users on cybersecurity awareness and promote IT security best practices.</li><li>Maintain accurate system documentation, network diagrams, and procedural guides.</li><li>Support disaster recovery planning and participate in security incident response activities.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent professional experience (4+ years).</li><li>Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar IT infrastructure role.</li><li>Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure, and Office 365.</li><li>Experience with Azure services (VMs, Azure AD, Azure Networking, App Services, and Azure Storage).</li><li>Hands-on experience with virtualization (VMware or Hyper-V).</li><li>Proficiency with security tools such as antivirus, EDR, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability management systems.</li><li>Familiarity with identity and access management, MFA, and privileged access controls.</li><li>Strong understanding of networking protocols, firewalls, and security best practices.</li><li>Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.</li><li>Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent) are an asset.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Note: this is an opportunity with a Microserve client.</b></p><p></p>Create Your Resume First
