As part of their continued growth, they are seeking an experienced <strong>Tax Manager</strong> to join their Tax team in a permanent leadership role.</p><p>This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA-designated tax professional who enjoys a balance of technical work, client interaction, and people leadership — and who is looking for a firm that genuinely prioritizes work-life balance while still offering clear growth and advancement.</p><p>The role can be based out of either the <strong>Mississauga or Burlington office</strong> and follows a <strong>hybrid model (3 days in office)</strong>, with additional flexibility after onboarding. The firm also offers a <strong>4-day work week during the summer months</strong>, setting them apart in the public accounting space.</p><p>The Role</p><p>As Tax Manager, you will play a key leadership role within the Tax department, overseeing complex tax engagements, mentoring staff, and supporting the continued growth of the firm. The position is split between <strong>client-facing tax work</strong> and <strong>departmental leadership</strong>, making it ideal for someone ready to step into a visible, impactful role.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><p><strong>Client & Technical Leadership</strong></p><ul><li><p>Review corporate, personal, and trust tax returns (T2, T1, T3)</p></li><li><p>Review GST/HST and other indirect tax filings</p></li><li><p>Lead and support CRA audits, tax queries, and dispute resolution</p></li><li><p>Provide proactive tax planning and advisory services</p></li><li><p>Advise on reorganizations, succession planning, estates, M&A, and cross-border matters</p></li><li><p>Identify tax risks and develop mitigation strategies for clients</p></li></ul><p><strong>Team & Department Leadership</strong></p><ul><li><p>Lead tax engagements and ensure work is completed on time and on budget</p></li><li><p>Mentor, develop, and coach staff at various levels</p></li><li><p>Contribute to departmental planning, workflow improvements, and process enhancements</p></li><li><p>Act as a technical resource for internal team members</p></li><li><p>Support recruitment, retention, and succession planning within the Tax group</p></li><li><p>Foster a collaborative, accountable, and supportive team culture</p></li></ul><p>What Our Client Is Looking For</p><ul><li><p><strong>CPA designation required</strong></p></li><li><p><strong>Completion of the CPA In-Depth Tax Program (required)</strong></p></li><li><p>5–7+ years of public accounting experience, with 3–4+ years in a tax-focused role</p></li><li><p>Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity</p></li><li><p>Strong technical knowledge of Canadian tax legislation</p></li><li><p>Proficiency with CaseWare, TaxPrep, CCH iFirm, and MS Office</p></li><li><p>Tech-savvy and comfortable working in a modern, paperless environment</p></li><li><p>Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with clients</p></li><li><p>Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities</p></li><li><p>A long-term mindset and interest in continued growth within the firm</p></li></ul><p>Why Join This Firm</p><ul><li><p>Competitive salary ($110K–$140K) plus bonus</p></li><li><p>Hybrid work model (3 days in office)</p></li><li><p>4-day work weeks during summer months</p></li><li><p>Company-paid health, dental, and vision benefits</p></li><li><p>RRSP matching and wellness incentives</p></li><li><p>Clear growth and development plan</p></li><li><p>Strong mentorship from Partners and senior leadership</p></li><li><p>Collaborative, people-first culture with low turnover</p></li><li><p>Permanent, stable role with long-term career potential</p></li></ul></p></p>
