<p>Klinic Community Health is a pro-choice community Health Centre that provides primary care, education and counselling services to our local community and throughout Manitoba. <p>Shared Health, together in partnership with Klinic Community Health, have created a position to provide onsite Trauma Counselling for clients of the MOST program. The Manitoba Opioid Support and Treatment (MOST)Program supportsindividuales who are dependent on opioids by prescribing medication that reduces the symptoms of withdrawal as well as providing counselling and other supports. Services would be offered at Shared Health’s River Point Centre site at 146 Magnus Avenue.</p>
<h3>Position Summary</h3>
<p>As a part of the MOST team, the counsellor will be included as a member of the interdisciplinary team to deliver trauma support and brief treatment counselling in both short- and longer-term models of engagement. As well, the MOST trauma counsellor will be accessible for consultation processes, and clinical case feedback and support in treatment planning alongside clients and practitioners. While working exclusively at the River Point Centre, the counsellor will be supported through Klinic Community Health Clinical Supervision models (both individual and peer).</p>
<h3>Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Undergraduate degree in the social sciences, graduate degree preferred</li>
<li>A minimum of 2 years direct experience providing in person counselling to children/individuals/ families in a supervised clinical setting</li>
<li>A minimum of 2 years working with children and families</li>
<li>A demonstrative understanding of the following: Intimate partner violence and the impact on family dynamics, crisis intervention, substance use, mental health, self-harm, trauma and unresolved trauma</li>
<li>Awareness and understanding of Strength Based, Person Centered, Trauma Informed, Brief Solution Focused Care and Holistic care practices</li>
<li>Have a thorough baseline understanding of addictions, substance use and Harm reductions models of care.</li>
<li>Knowledge of systems and the impact on children/individuals/families</li>
<li>Experience working within an anti-oppressive lens, demonstrated cultural humility and how privilege, power and intersectionality impact experience of intimate partner violence</li>
<li>Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to chart accurate documentation using leading practices</li>
<li>Understanding of the role of professional self-reflection in the counselling process</li>
<li>Able to work independently as well as contribute to a collaborative team environment</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)</li>
<li>Experience and training in leading support groups is an asset</li>
<li>Knowledge of intergenerational trauma is an asset</li>
</ul>
<h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Provides counselling to individuals accessing the MOST, opioid substance use and treatment program.</li>
<li>Practices and promotes leading practices</li>
<li>Maintains confidentiality and professionalism</li>
<li>Creates a safe(r) space for program participants</li>
<li>Completes intake, assessment, progress reports, summaries, charts and other administrative tasks relevant to the position</li>
<li>Participates in program development, implementation, monitoring and quality assurance</li>
<li>Actively participates in self-development; including evaluations and training opportunities</li>
<li>Engages in regular clinical supervision and program meetings</li>
<li>Connects clients with internal and external resources</li>
<li>Adhere to all agency policies, protocols and best practices</li>
<li>Perform other duties and functions related to job description but not exceeding above stated capacities</li>
</ul>
<h3>Requirements</h3>
<ul>
<li>Satisfactory Criminal Record, Child Abuse and Adult Abuse Registry Checks</li>
<li>Completion of ASIST Training</li>
</ul>
<h3>Salary Range</h3>
<p>$39.424 per hour - $51.449 per hour</p>
