<p><h3>Volunteer Treasurer – Board of Directors</h3><p>Hemophilia Saskatchewan (HSK) is a non‑profit organization that aims to improve the health and quality of life of people with inherited bleeding disorders and to find a cure. HSK offers education, advocacy, treatment, research, and support. We seek a dedicated individual with a passion for our mission to join our Board of Directors as Treasurer. This is a vital volunteer role responsible for overseeing the financial health and stability of our organization.</p>
<h3>About Us</h3>
<p>Hemophilia Saskatchewan (HSK) is a non‑profit organization which aims to improve the health and quality of life of all people with inherited bleeding disorders and, ultimately, to find a cure. HSK offers education, advocacy for care, treatment, and research, and support to all people with inherited bleeding disorders.</p>
<h3>Role and Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Financial Oversight: Oversee and present budgets, financial statements, and accounts to the Board of Directors.</li>
<li>Record Keeping: Ensure full and accurate accounts of all organizational receipts and disbursements are kept.</li>
<li>Compliance: Ensure all government filing requirements are observed, including financial reports, tax returns, and audits.</li>
<li>Banking: Act as a signing officer for cheques and other disbursements, with another officer.</li>
<li>Budgeting: Plan and keep track of budgets within the organization.</li>
<li>Leadership: Chair the fundraising committee and address financial matters to the board.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Skills and Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Experience: Experience in finance, accounting, and/or bookkeeping is required; previous board experience is an asset.</li>
<li>Education: Post‑secondary education in finance or accounting is beneficial; a CPA designation is an asset but not required.</li>
<li>Technical Skills: Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and strong computer skills.</li>
<li>Personal Attributes: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, self‑motivation, and excellent communication skills.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Time Commitment</h3>
<p>Approximately 4 hours per month, including attending board meetings and fundraising committee meetings, independent work between meetings, and organizational activities.</p>
<h3>Location</h3>
<p>Remote within Saskatchewan.</p>
