- Diagnose, repair, and maintain fleet systems, including:
- Brakes, suspensions, steering, and driveline
- Engine performance and tune-ups
- Transmissions and clutches
- Electrical and auxiliary systems
- Perform and lead Preventative Maintenance inspections (PMs), safety inspections, and annual certifications
- Remove, repair, and reinstall major mechanical components with minimal supervision
- Complete work orders accurately, including parts, labor, and documentation
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, defects, or repairs needed
- Conduct road calls and provide on-site emergency service as required
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and provincial regulations
- Safely move vehicles within the yard and shop
- Support and mentor apprentice mechanics
- Participate in ASE certification (training and bonuses provided)
- Truck & Transport Red Seal Certificate (or equivalent provincial license)
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence (higher classes considered an asset)
- Adequate personal tool set for heavy vehicle maintenance
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Comfortable using electronic repair manuals, diagnostic software, and work-order systems
- Willingness to work assigned shifts and occasional on-call rotation
